The Award-Winning Poet

James Bertolino has always accepted the life as a poet seriously. Not sure exactly why Jim is in a tuxedo, but he may be preparing to accept a National Endowment for the Arts award back in 1974.

The Fun-Loving Guy

This photo was snapped during the summer of 1974. Jim is posing with his good friend Tom Johnson, who is also a poet. They are in Newfield, New York. During this time, Jim was a lecturer in creative writing at Cornell University.

Jim didn't live in this cabin, but he has lived in other cabins. This photo wasn't dated, so it's difficult to tell when it was taken. Looks like he's a little older than the two photos above, so let's guess this is in the eighties.

Art Opening

This photo shares an event that Jim always loves to attend—an art opening. On the back on this particular photo is the signature of the renowned photographer Mary Randlett. The sculpture on the pedestal may be by Clayton James.
